3Unter dem Archon Nikostratos; die De-
4metrias hatte die neunte Prytanie inne;
5im Elaphebolion am neunten, dem fünf-
6undzwanzigsten (Tag) der Prytanie; Haupt-Volks-
7versammlung; von den Vorsitzenden leitete die Abstimmung An-
8timachos S.d. A- -os aus dem Demos Acharnai und seine
9Mitvorsitzenden. Beschluss des Volkes; Gorgos S.d. Phryni- -
10aus dem Demos - - - stellte den Antrag: Da Herodoros
11sich bereits früher, als er sich bei König
12Antigonos aufhielt, wohlwollend war gegenüber dem Volk
13der Athener, und jetzt als Vertrauter
14des Königs Demetrios nach Möglichkeit Gutes
15tut sowohl insgesamt für die Stadt als auch
16speziell für jeden Athener, der seiner
17bedarf; ihn auch die wegen des
18Friedensvertrages zu dem
19König Demetrios geschickten Gesandten
20bezeichnen als Mitstreiter des Volkes
21für den Ausbau der Freundschaft
22zu König Demetrios und dafür, dass das Volk
23aufs schnellste vom Krieg ablässt und die
24Stadt in seinen Besitz bringt, um für immer
25Demokratie zu haben, zu Glück und Heil!,
26wolle beschließen das Volk: dass man belobige Herodoros
27S.d. Ph- - aus - -kos wegen seines Wohlwollens
28und seines Ehrgeizes, den er beständig für
29das Volk der Athener hegt, und ihn
30bekränze mit goldenem Kranz gemäß dem
31Gesetz, und den Kranz verkündige bei den Dionysien
32in der Stadt an den Tragödien-Aufführungen;
33dass er auch Athener sein soll und
34seine Nachkommen, und eingeschrieben werde in
35Phyle und Demos und Phratrie, die er
36will; dass auch sein soll Speisung im Prytaneion
37ihm und dem jeweils ältesten seiner Nachkommen,
38und ein Ehrensitz bei allen Festen,
39die die Stadt ausrichtet; dass das Volk
40aufstelle auch sein Standbild aus Bronze auf
41der Agora nahe bei Harmordios und Aristogeiton
42und den Rettern; dass das Volk
43auch drei Männer unter allen Athenern
44wähle, die Sorge tragen werden
45für die Anfertigung der Statue; dass ihnen
46der Prüfungsbeamte und die Trittyarchen
47für das Bild anweisen, was an Ausgaben
48anfällt; dass die Prytanen über ihn
49abstimmen lassen in der kommenden
50Volksversammlung; dass die Thesmotheten für ihn
51die Prüfung des Bürgerrechts und
52der (anderen) Privilegien einleiten bei dem Gerichtshof
53gemäß dem Gesetz, sobald sie zuerst einen Gerichtshof
54auffüllen; dass diesen Beschluss aufzeichne
55der Sekretär, der während der Prytanie amtiert,
56auf eine steinerne Stele und aufstelle auf der
57Akropolis; dass für die Aufzeichnung auf der
58Stele der Finanzverwalter (das Geld) gebe.

3In the archonship of Nikostratos, in the
4ninth prytany, of Demetrias. On the ninth
5of Elaphebolion, the twenty-
6fifth of the prytany. Principal
7Assembly. Of the presiding committee Antimachos
8son of A- - of Acharnai was putting to the vote and his fellow presiding
9committee members.  The People decided. Gorgos son of Phrynion
10of - - - proposed: since Herodoros
11when earlier in the company of king
12Antigonos was of good will to the Athenian
13People, and now being in the confidence of king
14Demetrios does what good he can
15both collectively on behalf of the city and
16individually for each Athenian as the need
17arises, and since the ambassadors
18sent on behalf of peace
19to king Demetrios declare that
20he shared in the effort for the People
21to accomplish both friendship with
22king Demetrios, and so that the People,
23having been delivered from the war as quickly as possible, and
24having recovered the city, might
25continue to have democracy, for good fortune,
26the People shall decide: to praise Herodoros son of Ph- -
27of [Lampsa]kos (or [Kyzi]kos) for the good will
28and love of honour that he continues to have for
29the Athenian People, and to crown him
30with a gold crown according to the law;
31and to announce the crown at the tragedy
32competition of the Dionysia in the city;
33and he shall be Athenian, and
34his descendants, and shall enrol in the tribe
35and deme and phratry that he wishes;
36and he shall have dining rights in
37the city hall, as shall the eldest of his descendants
38at the time, and a front row seat at all competitions
39that the city puts on; the People also shall stand
40a bronze statue of him in the Agora
41but not next to those of Harmodios and Aristogeiton
42and the Saviours; and the People shall elect
43three men from all the Athenians
44who will manage the
45making of the statue; and the
46inspector and the trittys leaders
47shall allocate to them whatever expenditure for the statue
48accrues; and the prytany shall put
49the vote about him at the next Assembly;
50and the court presidents shall bring
51the scrutiny of his citizenship
52[and his award] before the court
53according to the law, when they next [fill up]
54the courts; and the prytany secretary
55shall inscribe this decree on a stone stele and stand it
56on the acropolis; and for
57inscribing the stele the administratror
58shall give (the expenditure).
